Kirepwe, a special place in the paradise of Mida Creek

Restaurant, excursion, resort with rooms in the most secret part of Watamu

In Watamu there is a place that is absolutely worth visiting and where you can spend at least a day (and then come back and come back and come back again...) if not an entire holiday, as a base from which to discover the true soul of coastal Kenya.
This place is called Kirepwe Ecco Camp, it is located in the heart of the unspoilt nature of Mida Creek and is a perfect combination of the spontaneous richness of local culture and traditions, Swahili and Mijikenda, and the elegance and comfort of a modern facility where nothing is left to chance.
This corner of paradise is an island available to guests, which can only be reached by boat, ten minutes from the Crab Shack landing stage, in the mangrove ecosystem a few kilometres from the white beaches of Watamu, its bars and its tourist bustle.
Kirepwe is a resort with 14 rooms, each one different from the other, and all the comforts of a hotel, from the swimming pool to wi-fi, with bed & breakfast or even half and full board, and with a restaurant that combines local and international cuisine.
There are many activities you can do during a stay at Kirepwe Ecco Camp, from boat trips in the creek or in search of dolphins in the Indian Ocean, to the adventure of kayaking among the spectacular mangroves and the surprise of flamingos, but also simply the most absolute relaxation, so close but so far from the chaos of modern life, practising yoga, enjoying a spectacular sunset with an unforgettable view and a drink in front of the bonfire when night falls.
Kirepwe is also a restaurant, available for lunch or dinner, with traditional specialities such as chicken, marinated fish or grilled prawns, and delicacies such as crab samosas, but also simply a good pizza... where you would never think of tasting one.
Kirepwe Ecco Camp is a happy place, far from stress and close to the soul, and absolutely worth trying.
