Roberto Lenzi: "No problem with elections, season will be great"

Watamu stakeholder in a radio interview: "We are full for Christmas"

The optimism of the Kenyan tourism sector, after the presidential elections and their queues of expectations, anxieties and incidents in the north of the country, is no mystery.
The international media that have dealt with the affair, hypothesizing difficult scenarios for the country, between security and public order, collapse of the economy and vertical decline in tourism, have had to be recreated and today the evidence speaks of Kenya that is once again marching in the direction it had left on the eve of the electoral process.
This is also the opinion of the Italian Ambassador to Nairobi Mauro Masoni, who interviewed by the correspondent of Rai Enzo Nucci, expressed optimism for the return of the African nation to the streets.
"The problem has in any case been more of an economic than a political and social nature - said Freemasons - Kenya must now resume its interrupted path and pay attention to security, because people suffer a moment of extreme poverty and this could trigger other episodes of crime".
The reference is to the deprived neighbourhoods of Nairobi, where there have been clashes and looting, which have little to do with politics, behind the repetitions of the presidential elections.
On the side of tourism on the coast, significant intervention at Radio Rai by the Roman entrepreneur Roberto Lenzi, owner with his family of hotel facilities Crystal Bay and 7 Islands Resort and the beach bar restaurant Papa Remo in Watamu.
"Tourism in our locality has not suffered too much from these elections, despite the fact that this is a voting stronghold in Odinga there were no problems and everything took place peacefully - said Lenzi - we have always been calm and we have worked. The forecasts for the coming season are excellent, so much so that we already have the facilities full from Christmas onwards".
