The world's most luxurious resort is located in Kenya.
So decided the pool of experts in the sector who presented the "Travel and Leisure Best Award" 2021 to the "Mahali Mzuri" lodge in the Maasai Mara national reserve.
A tented camp (but it is a definition that cannot reflect the magnificence of the exclusive resort) consisting of 12 suites of the highest level, immersed in the natural paradise of the Mara, all with views of the savannah and with every kind of comfort.
Mahali Mzuri is the brainchild of Sir Richard Branson, founder of the multinational Virgin and a great lover of Kenya and its nature, so much so that he is at the forefront of land conservation and collaboration with the Maasai communities.
"We are delighted to announce that Mahali Mzuri has been voted the world's number 1 hotel in the Travel + Leisure Awards 2021! - Branson writes on the Kenyan resort's official website - We are thrilled to have won this prestigious award and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us. When you think of going on safari in Kenya, one of the first things that comes to mind is the Great Migration. Words cannot do justice to the majesty of this awe-inspiring spectacle. I hope you enjoy your adventure in Kenya as much as I continue to do.
This is how the same site presents its accommodation, whose prices for one night range from about 1500 to 3000 euros per person.
"Mahali Mzuri means "beautiful place" in Swahili, it is a luxury safari camp with 12 tents owned by Sir Richard Branson, located in the Olare Motorogi private reserve, at an altitude of 1700 metres, in the wider Maasai Mara ecosystem in Kenya.
Thanks to Mahali Mzuri's excellent location in the Kenyan savannah, guests will have a 'front row seat', not only to the great annual migration, but also to all the animals that can be seen all year round. Mahali Mzuri's super stylish tented suites are the perfect holiday retreat. Each accommodation guarantees peace and tranquillity, as well as excellent guest service at all times during your stay.
