Beef cubes with cassava

Muhogo wa nyama, traditional kenya dish

20-09-2015 di redazione

"Muhogo wa Nyama" (meat with cassava) is a typical dish of Kenyan cuisine. The cassava is a tuber completely similar to the manioc, it is used to make flour or potatoes, both fried and stewed. Its taste reminds a bit of chestnut. In this case it may be an alternative to potatoes or green bananas for meat stew.
RECIPE

Ingredients:: Ingredients

Pieces of cash. peeled and clean
Red Onions
Green chilli peppers (pili pili)
Salt qb
Coconut milk
Coconut cream
Adult bovine meat

PREPARATION: PREPARATION

In a pot, place the pieces of cassava, the diced onion, the previously boiled meat (without broth) and the green chilli peppers.
Pour a little salt and coconut milk on the cassava.
Bring to the boil and cook until manioc is soft and tender and coconut milk has been reduced to the desired amount.
In another pot, heat the coconut cream and stir constantly until it thickens.
Now pour the thickened coconut cream over the cooked cassava.
Serve with a chutney of your choice or tomato sauce.
In the "poor" versions, meat broth is added.
